It was a great day on Saturday for our Novice Comp. Every one had lots of fun and the atmosphere was great considering that we had to move the venue on the day.
A great thanks to all of the clubs that support the tournament, Tans, Factor Ten, Yun Hap, and BTC.
Also a special thank you to the Luyt family whom all did a lot on the day.

Oceania & Commenwealth Selections
Great results was once again achieved by our members at the Oceania and Commonwealth Taekwondo Selection Championships on the 25th September in Melbourne. We had 14 of our best junior and senior fighters from WA & QLD compete at these selections in the hope that at the end of the day after some hard and tough competition they would emerge as champions and be part of the Australian Team that would represent our country at these 2 major Championships.
Our Team Rawlins did not let us down, with Renae Perkins, Nadine Venter, Emily O'Sullivan, Mustaffa Olomi, Jess Jordan, Jasmine Cross and Chad Cross all winning gold, and Tiaana Dicicco, Jacob White, Kalis Vandiappan and Sinead Smyth winning silver, and Hayley Brandon, Ondrej Venter and Keti Hristoska all winning bronze.
We should have had a couple more gold medals had it not been for some not so fair decisions that didn't go our way but that is the nature of our sport and we will go on with it (we don't have to be happy, but we will go on with it ). There were some good stories from these comp, which will be detailed in our full report (coming soon, so watch this space).

Rawlins Ferny Grove Grading
On The 3rd Of August We Conducted A Small Grading For Our White And Yellow Belts. I Am Pleased To Announce That All Eight Students Passed. Ella, Josh, Jacob And Fletch Successfully Graded To 9th Gup, Kate And Paige To 8th Gup And Madison And Hayden To 7th Gup.
Overall It Was A Strong Performance Put In By All. The Remaining Students To Grade Will Be Doing This In Front Of Our Master Mr Rawlins On The Monday The 6th Of September At Our Full Time Centre.

Finally it has happened. Our New Full Time Centre is going to open on Thursday the 5th of August 2010 in Underwood at 3.30pm
The Centre will be open 6 days A week from 3.30pm till 9pm Monday To Friday and 9am Till 5pm on Saturdays.
Timetable for Training will be posted soon.
The Address of the Centre is Unit 4/3261 Logan Rd Underwood.
The Grand Opening will be on Monday the 6th of September when Mr Rawlins will be here for Grading, after the Grading Food and Drinks will be served for every one.
Come along and have a good time with us on the 6th of September.

Just a sneak peek from our new training center.
I would like to thank Larry for the hard work he has done in the center. Without his hard work this would not have been possible to get the center up and going on time. He has been there every night till 10pm in the last week finishing the walls cutting post and putting carpet and mats on.
So a big Thank you to Larry White.
Also I would like to thank Marisha and Domenic for there help on Monday night with the Mats.
One more Sleep and the center is open for training see you guy's there on Thursday.

Rawlins TKD was invited to Factor 10 Martials Tournament on Saturday and out of 9 fighters only 4 were Matched to fight we came home with 2 Gold ,1 Silver and 1 Bronze out the Kids that fought on the day.
It was a very good Tournament and we all enjoyed the day.
It was also Mustafaa's first time as a Coach which he did a very good job as I was on work duty and got there late to just see the last fight.
Well done Guy's now get ready for your new Centre which will be open for Training on Thursday the 5th of August.

On Sunday the 25th of July we had a team of 9 for the Qld Selection out of them only 3 were matched to fight the other 6 were unmatched all of the fighters made us proud with there sportsmanship and the way the went on about there match's. |

Rawlins TKD had the pleasure to train with one of the best Mixed Martial Arts Expert in Qld Master Raymond came along and taught our students some BJJ moves and some Basic MMA Style moves.
He has promised to come again and train with us on some Thursday nights which our students where very happy to hear.
Any one interested to train from our clubs please give me a call on Thursday afternoons for confirmation if the training is on as Master Raymond has he has a very busy schedule and other commitments to fulfil.
This will be a permanent fixture for our club once we have moved to our new full time centre soon.

Rawlins TKD had the pleasure of training with New Zealands Bay City Taekwond Head Instructor Camille and her son Robbie.
They Train with us for the whole week and all of our student had a lot of fun and some serious traning as well.
We meet Camille in NZ last month during the NZ Open and she liked what our students achieved from QLD and WA and that is why she decided to train with us and she has promised to come back soon, hopefully for Rawlins Open next year she will bring some student to fight.
Have a safe trip back home and hope to see you guy's again towards the end of the year.

It was a great tournament for our fighters this weekend, all of our fighters fought very well and everything Click on the day for them, whom train hard.

New Zealand Tour 2010 |

| Great result from New Zealand we took 9 fighters and come home with 8 Gold and 1 Bronze .
Well done guys you done a great job together with our other 9 fighters from Perth we had 18 fighters in total.
It was a great tour for our first timers which they have taken the challenge from across the Tasman, New Zealand, Samoa and Tonga. Our fighters where by far the best fighters of the tournament especially the first timers which was there first International Tour.
We also won the Trophy for the best supporting team a big thanks to all of the parents and the students who have supported the fighters and lost there voices especially Larry who could not speak the next day.
Our Qld winners are
Mustafaa Olomi, Jacob White, Courtney Pomerenke, Dominic Bielicki, Justin Bikoff, Khaaled Olomi, Mousa Deen, Zekria Sayed, and Zulaikha Deen got bronze due to being sick after her second fight otherwise she would have won Gold.
Also Congratulation to Mustafaa by winning the best Junior Fighter of the tournament well done.
WA Gold Medal winners are

| Mr. Rawlins has done it again, with 3 off his 4 fighters making it into the Australian World Cup Team, the selections were held in Canberra at the AIS, where the top Taekwondo clubs from around Australia took their best fighters in an attempt to make the 8 spots that were needed to be filled by Australia for the World Cup Team....
Congratulations to Jessica Jordan, Jasmine Cross and Chad Cross on winning Gold and to Sinead Smyth who narrowly lost the finals in the last 8 seconds of the match by 1 point,to bring home the Silver, if only the point went the other way, we would have had all 4 players represent Australia, making it a 100% result.
With the results that Mr. Rawlins has achieved at this, and other Australian Team Selection Events he has earnt the name Super Coach....

| Tans Gold Coast Open was a succes for all Rawlins Fighters the day start on Saturday for us we had 4 Fighters from Southside and 4 from Northside out of the 8 Fighters we won in total 7 Gold 1 Silver Not bad guys.
Then come along Sunday we had 10 Fighters from Our Southside which we took home 8 Gold 2 Silver and a Bronze.

| Renae after a slow start come home well to win both junior and open Black belt divisions.
Lauren in her continued comeback to competition was happy with her bronze after loosing in sudden death.
Ben Thomas won senior Yellow belt in first tournament. This was a great achievement after suffering a deep cut to his nose in first fight. He then came out and won his second fight in golden point with a stunning head kick. Coach Chris was very bemused as to why the head shot as he had asked for a clean body kick. His reply was but he had his arms in front of the chest plate and his head was more open. A good lesson for all my black belts on how to win a golden point quickly. Ha Ha....
Zita fought a brave fight whilst suffering with a bad case of the flu.
All in all a good effort we look forward to the next tournament.

Rawlins Taekwondo Challenge 2010

Rawlins Open 2010 was a big hit with the fighters and the officials, every one had a great time and there was a lot of good fights as well.
Out of 23 Fighters and 6 Poomsea we came home with 28 Gold and 16 Silver Medals Not bad for some of our Novice fighters whom fought for the first time which means the Club has a great future ahead of it.
Rawlins TKD would like to also thank the following people Larry White and Paul Pomerenke for running the event on the day and Karen Perkins for running marshalling area, thank you

Rawlins fighters did a great job on Saturday and Sunday as we cleaned up at the Qld open. The weekend started on Saturday with Cedric Luyt and Cheri Luyt Winning Gold for Poomsea and on Sunday while 2 of our fighters where Uncontested the rest of the team made up for them in numbers.
Out of the 10 fighters that fought on Sunday they won in total 12 Gold Medals - it was not easy but our fighters stood up for the challenge and fought hard and with determination.
In total We won 14 Gold Medals - for better than 100% Success - particularly pleasing was the fact that we did not lose any fights on the day.
The Winners are: Mustafaa Olomi, Jahan Olomi, Renea Perkins, Zita Dore, Dominic Bielicki, Abdullah Houadchia, Zekria Sayed, Cedric Luyt, Cheri Luyt, Zulaikha Deen (missing from photo).
Courtney Pomerenke and Khaaled Olomi both won Gold medals in 2 weight divisions. Between them they contested 7 fights and this earned them fighters of the tournament status.
Well done Guys train hard for the next Challenge which is our own club Tournament in 4 weeks time - Rawlins Open on the 18th of April 2010

Also a big thanks to all the parents and supporters who came out to the Entertainment centre and cheered their lungs out all day for the team.
