Haris Olomi Queensland Instructor NCAS Level 1
|
Haris Olomi first began his Taekwondo training in Western Australia under Charles Rawlins back in 1987 to 1992, he then moved to Queensland and continued his training at various club's but never found one that was dynamic or exciting as his original club so he stopped training.
It was not until 2001 when he enrolled his son Mustafaa at Southern Cross Taekwondo that he resumed his training, he also started training in Haidong Gumdo (the Korean art of swordsmanship). Once his son Mustafaa passed his black belt and started competiting in State and National Competitions and seeing that he had a lot of potential, Haris knew that he had to ask his former coach and Instructor, whom he admired and respected for his advice.
Mr Rawlins vast knowledge in competition sparring and his handy tips on training was of great value to Haris, and he used what he was taught to take his son to the next level, resulting in Mustafaa been unbeaten since 2005.
Out of respect and loyality to his former Instructor, Haris sought permission and opened a branch of the Charles Rawlins Taekwondo Centres in Queensland, and is now in the process of building a new generation of Taekwondo exponents in Queensland. As a result of his brilliance, Haris is now
one of the coaches for the Queensland High Performance Team 2009.
Welcome to Charles Rawlins Martial Arts and Taekwondo Centres.
Rawlins Taekwondo was established in 1985 and in that time has grown into one of Australia's top taekwondo centres. The growth of the club is contributed to the teaching of 'giving the students what they want' and to the dedication of our instructors. Traditional values and respect are very much alive and practised at our centres around Australia.
Also due to the passion that the instructors have, the centres are run like a martial arts club and not just a business. Students are treated as people, not as money walking through the door. Our fees are very affordable and we have no contracts!
We teach traditional techniques as well as modern and realistic self defence moves. Our sports taekwondo classes are amongst the best in Australia, with results speaking for itself - having representatives both in Senior and Junior Australian Teams for the past five years.
All our instructors are accredited and enjoy teaching taekwondo. They are dedicated and very helpful and will help you achieve your goals, whether it be fitness, confidence, flexibility or competition.
Through fundraising activities that are run by our parents, the club financially supports its members that wish to compete at state, national or international level as well as running training camps for all interested. It is something not practised by many clubs around Australia, but it is what the Academy is proud of.
We have members that range from 4 - 60 year old as well as specialised junior classes at various centres. Our club is very family orientated with the respect and values that our taught in class being carried out in daily life.
As of 2008, the Charles Rawlins Taekwondo Centres have become Charles Rawlins Martial Arts and Taekwondo Centres. We are taking the mixed martial arts approach to training in addition to traditional taekwondo while still producing top taekwondo exponents.
The Charles Rawlins Martial Arts and Taekwondo Centres is also a member of Taekwondo Australia Inc. and through them, as members of the World Taekwondo Federation, Commonwealth Taekwondo Union, Oceania Taekwondo Union. We are also recognised by the Australian Olympic Committe, Australian Sports Commision and the Australian Coaching Council.
